In 2000 HEBCAC launched the East Monument Main Street Program—one of the City of Baltimore’s original Main Street programs. These retail revitalization initiatives seek to energize merchants and residents to work together to improve shopping districts throughout older Baltimore neighborhoods. Since we began our renewal efforts, the East Monument Main Street program has directly garnered well over $2 million of public and private investment in façade improvements, street lighting, and other street improvements.
